Mid Valley aug profile

Mid Valley's Global Science class examined our second soil profile by our instrument shelter, located on the lawn of our school. This time, we weren't surprised by our professor, so we were prepared to get our hands and knees all covered with dirt. None of us were confused this time. We got down in the soil about 34 cm, and then hit rock. The sad part is that we only dug up topsoil!!

This profile was examined on October 8, 1997.

  • All top horizon. Hit soil rock at 36 cm and could auger no farther.
